Correction ladder — each pass removed an impossible assumption
The first figure was never reachable: it assumed a book the exchange cannot represent and ignored the risk limits the live system applies. The last one is what to plan against.

Connect Hyperliquid

Two values, both from the Hyperliquid site. Each is checked as you paste it.

Not connected
Step 1 — Account address waiting

This is the wallet holding your USDC. It is public information, not a secret.

  1. Open app.hyperliquid.xyz/trade and connect your wallet
  2. Click your address in the top-right corner
  3. Copy it — it starts 0x and is 42 characters
Step 2 — API wallet private key waiting

A dedicated trading key. It can place orders but cannot withdraw — that is the whole point of using one.

  1. Open app.hyperliquid.xyz/API
  2. Name it (e.g. cryptoalgo) and click Generate
  3. Copy the private key it shows you, then click Authorize

Hyperliquid shows this key once. Copy it before closing.

Both values are sealed with AES-256-GCM before touching disk.
